October Employee of the Month

raul-quiroa1

Raul Quiroa was selected Employee of the Month for October 2009.  Raul has worked for Maryville for approximately 4 years.  He currently works the day shift on East Unit as a CNA.  Raul is a great team member and is willing to help others, as well as doing whatever is asked of him by his supervisors.  The residents love him and are very happy to see him every day.  He demonstrates “Service with Love” each and every day he works.

When not at work, Raul enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.  They are a big part of his life.  He also enjoys doing things with his extended family, as well as hunting and fishing.  Maryville is fortunate to have Raul as an employee.  We appreciate his hard work and dedication.

Congratulations Raul!

Alzheimers Memory Walk

In conclusion of our fundraisers for the Alzheimers Association, Maryville will participate in the Memory Walk, held downtown Portland on Sunday, Sept. 27th.  Maryville has a team of staff and family and friends that walk the 2 mile path with the thousands of other supporters from the area.  If you would like to participate, or donate to the cause, please contact Jessie Harris at (503) 718-5345 or jharris@ssmoministries.org

At Maryville, we will hold our own Memory Walk so the residents are able to participate in their own way.  On Friday, Sept. 25 in our main lounge at 1:30pm, Valley Catholic High School’s Jazz band will be playing their wonderful music as we walk with the residents.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us during the summer with our fundraising efforts.
