Employee of the Month

Lucy Bautista, November 2008

Maryville Nursing Home has been twice blessed with the service of Lucy Bautista, Lead Dietary Cook, who was chosen as “Employee of the Month“ for November 2008! Lucy first started working with Maryville in 1995 and worked for 5 years until she decided to leave because of the arrival of her third child. Luckily, she decided to return to Maryville in 2005 and has been with us ever since.

Lucy is a great mom, a wonderful person and she is dedicated, reliable and hard-working. Her position at Maryville is a challenging one and she manages her huge responsibility with expertise and compassion. The position of a healthcare dietary cook requires patience, organization and creativity, all of these qualities, Lucy possesses. She is very task-oriented and takes her job very seriously and yet she always finds time for laughter, inspiring others to get moving and get laughing! She is so much fun to work with. Her laugh echoes through the kitchen and brings smiles to all those around her.

Lucy cares about helping others within the department as well as other staff members. Hilee Jackson, Activities Director, commends Lucy for always making sure everyone has what they need for special events, while she is also preparing a meal for over 150 people! Lucy is a professional with her knowledge of therapeutic diets and special textures and is very concerned that the residents have what they need and want while trying to follow their specific diet prescription.

If you have not had the opportunity to meet Lucy, you should be sure to make her acquaintance, she will be sure to give you a smile!

Thank you Lucy, for all you do! You are most deserving of this award.
