Congratulations to Leticia Salinas for being selected as Employee of the Month for September. Leticia works as a CNA in the West Unit. Leticia is married and has 2 young children. She was hired at Maryville in July 1998.

Leticia is a wonderful, dedicated, and hard working person. He takes her job seriously, rendering quality care and striving for excellence in all she does. She is a great team player, always willing to help her co-workers. Leticia is always neat and helps her residents look their best as well.

Residents and families express their appreciation for what a great job she does. Maryville is fortunate to have Leticia caring for our residents. She is truly deserving of this recognition!

August Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Flory Buckner who was chosen as August’s Employee of the Month! Flory is one of the nurses on West Unit and began working at Maryville in February 2009. She is married and has 2 children. Flory enjoys spending time with her family and outdoor activities. She used to work for the World Wildlife Fund and was able to to travel to remote communities.

Flory is loved by staff and Maryville residents and families. She goes above and beyond what is expected to make sure everyone is happy, feels heard, and taken care of. Her calm, professional manner makes things run smoothly. She is continually working at keeping things organized and tackling all the little details so everything remains under control and well handled. Flory leads west unit and coordinates her co-workers. Her supervisors are confident that the residents are well cared for. They know if they want something done right and on time, Flory will see to it. She is dedicated towards her profession and our facility. We are lucky she chose Maryville to work at. She is truly an asset to our nursing home.

July Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Tina Bryan who was selected as Employee of the Month for July 2010. Tina began working at Maryville in August 2008 and works in Activities and Central Supply.

Tina has been very helpful in Activities with creative classes, sensory programs, and with the residents in our Memory Care Unit. She is always cheerful and eager to help the residents any way she can. She has a calm way about her that the residents respond nicely to. Tina has a strong work ethic and makes sure her duties are done in the best possible way. She is very organized and uses her time well. Tina’s compassion is so evident when watching her interact with the residents.

Tina’s supervisor in Central Supply says that she is the best assistant ever. She is pro-active and always sees what needs to be done. Tina is dependable and extremely efficient. Her excellent computer skills have enabled Central Supply to implement new and improved ways of managing the department.

Tina and her husband have been married for 20 years and they have two children that attend Valley Catholic Schools. Maryville is very fortunate to have Tina as part of our “Service with Love” team. Congratulations Tina!

Employee of the Month for June

Congratulations to Maria Hernandez who was chosen as Employee of the Month for June 2010. Maria was born in California and moved to Oregon at age 15 (isn’t Maryville lucky?). She has been a Certified Nursing Assistant at Maryville since December of 2008. Kudos to Maria for her excellent attendance and on-time arrival at work. She is always willing to help her co-workers, in other words, she is a good team player. Maria is flexible and willing to float to different units and shifts as needed. She admits that she loves being a CNA.

Maria is the mother of four children and loves being with her family. She also likes to bake, cook, play soccer, and dance. Dancing is where she met her husband. Maria is fun loving and has a contagious smile. Congratulations Maria!!

May Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Hoa Huynh who was selected as Employee of the Month for May. Hoa is a RN on Center Unit. She was born in Vietnam and is the only girl of 4 children. Hoa was 21 years old when she came to the United States. She went to nursing school at OHSU and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2001. Hoa came to work at Maryville and has been here ever since.

Hoa is a very caring nurse. Her patients love her and so do the family members. She is very smart, patient, and always very cheerful. Her co-workers love her and miss her when she is on vacation, which is her passion. She never leaves the unit with work left undone because she is a very thorough person. Her calm demeanor helps a lot in keeping the residents calm, especially in the afternoon with “sundowner syndrome” when residents can become restless. We would love to have more nurses just like her! Congratulations Hoa on a well deserved award!

April Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Rafaela “Rafie” Contreras who was selected as Employee of the Month for April. Rafie has been a very important member of the dietary team since October 1994. She is always willing to help her coworkers and is well respected in the department. Rafie has held many different positions in the kitchen during her career. Currently she prepares food and beverages and participates in the preparation of resident meal trays. She also works as a baker and prepares many of the wonderful desserts for the resident meals and the special activity goodies. She makes beautiful birthday cakes for the resident parties as well as hundreds of frosted cookies for the holidays. Rafie is most deserving of this award. Our thanks to her for her years of dedication and “Service with Love”!

March Employee of the Month

Maria Gulmatico came to Oregon from the Philippines by way of Hawaii.
She is happily married and has a teen-aged daughter. She has been with
Maryville since 1996.

Maria is an asset to the HKC unit, and is a very good team player. She has a calming effect on our very special residents. Hers, are the extra pair of hands on the Evening shift. She has the knowledge and experience, accumulated through the years, so that she is an excellent resource person for the Evening shift.
She is willing to go out of the unit when requested, to lend her expertise to
solve problems.

Maria is much deserving of the Employee of the Month award, she is such a
joy to work with….. just ask her staff!

February Employee of the Month

The employee of the Month for February is Christina Allison from West Annex.She was born and raised in India where she got her nursing diploma and Bachelor of Arts degree.She came to the US in 1993 to Illinois to work for a nursing home that sponsored her to come to the states. She worked there until 2001. In July of 2001 she made her way to Oregon after she met her future husband. They have an adorable daughter they adopted in 2007.

Christina came to work at Maryville on July 16, 2001. On her first day she knew this was a good fit for her. Christina says that it is her passion to work with the elderly and provide the best and most comfortable care possible, which is reflected in the quality of the care she provides to her residents and their families. Christina has worked on several units since being here at Maryville but her home unit is now on West Annex. She is very dedicated to her work and is always willing to come in or stay over if needed. She is willing to help her staff in any way she can and is always answering call lights and assisting her residents when she has the time.

We are so glad that Christina came to work for Maryville and we are proud to have her on our team. Thank you Christina for you dedication and loyalty!!

January Employee of the Month

Merly Bautista was born and raised in the Philippines. She and her husband and 4 children came to the United States in 1999, and Merly began working in the Laundry department that same year. Merly is a reliable and dedicated employee. When needed, Merly steps right up and takes charge of washing all the laundry. She is always willing to do whatever is asked of her without hesitation or complaint. She has a great sense of humor and enjoys laughing and joking with her co-workers. She is well liked by everyone who knows her.

Merly is very deserving of the recognition and honor of being selected Employee of the Month and Maryville is fortunate to have her as an employee. Congratulations Merly!!

December Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Diana Krause for being chosen December Employee of the Month. Diana is a CNA on the West Unit and has worked at Maryville for almost 7 years.

Diana is extremely helpful to staff, residents and family members. She does what is asked of her in a timely manner and is very punctual. Diana is good at her job and takes pride in what she does. She is responsible to do the initial training for all new CNA’s, and she does an excellent job. She is known to greet everyone with a smile and a kind word. Diana’s residents are well cared for and loved.

Diana is a great helper with off-site activities as well. She accompanies the residents to make sure they have a fun and safe time on their trip. In 2007, Diana was selected for the OHCA’s “Champion of the Month”. Nominations for this award come in from around the state. We are very proud of her and her accomplishments.
